Edgar Allan Pwned

In this episode I talk about an argument between Poe and a certain editor named Griswold. I'm calling it The Gentleman's Feud. I explain the rift between the two literary scholars and why Griswold wrote such a nasty obituary which actually did the opposite effect that made Poe infamous. I'm reading an original flash fiction short story called "For Elise" and the two poems I'm reading by Poe are "Lenore" and "The Sleeper". Happy listening!!

The Official POEbituary

In this episode I am sharing the official obituary of Poe which was written by a nemesis of his to slander Poe and his work but had the opposite effect. The two poems I am reading are entitled "A Dream" and "Dream-Land". I also read the short story conclusion to "The Pit And The Pendulum"

A Toast To Mr Poe!

This week's episode I discuss the mysterious man who for over 70 years would go to Poe's grave on his birthday to toast him with a bottle of Cognac and three roses. The two poems I share are "The City In The Sea" and "The Valley Of Unrest". This episode I briefly discuss Poe's obsession with perfect handwriting and what you can learn about a person by their handwriting alone. I read The Raven which is Poe's most widely known poem and this weeks Improper Poetiquete segment is about what if Edgar was alive in the 90s and either starred or wrote episodes of famous tv sitcoms. That would make some imteresting tv!

What exactly Is A Podcast?!

The Poe Shadow...
